Bhode Vans
Introduction
Bryn started Bhode Vans from scratch, and this is one of several sites built together as the business has grown. By this point, Bhode had matured into a proper operation: bespoke campervan builds alongside a set of pre-defined packages, with Bryn's own 3D renders doing justice to the quality of the work. The site hadn't kept pace. It needed to catch up, technically and visually.
Proven Results
Faster Page Load Speed
Fewer Plugins for Improved Stability
Lighter Overall Page Weight
Reduction in Unqualified Enquiries
Challenge
The existing site had two distinct problems. The performance issues were straightforward: slow loading, an overloaded plugin stack, and unoptimised images adding unnecessary weight. The conversion problem was more interesting. A single generic enquiry form was generating contact, but too much of it from the wrong people. For a business where every build is high-value and the process is time-intensive, unqualified enquiries aren't just annoying, they're expensive.
Solution
The rebuild tackled both. Server migration, plugin consolidation, and full image optimisation got the performance where it needed to be: dramatically faster, significantly lighter, and far more stable. On the conversion side, the generic form was replaced with enquiry flows specific to each package, each feeding into a Typeform managed by Bryn. Visitors who know what they want get a form built around that package; those still exploring land on a general enquiry as the secondary option. The result is better-qualified leads in Bryn's inbox and fewer conversations that go nowhere. Visually, the site took a clean Scandinavian direction, letting the 3D renders do the heavy lifting without getting in their way.

Discovery
2 Weeks
Two problems, one audit. Technical issues were diagnosed early; the bigger discovery was understanding what a qualified lead actually looked like for Bhode, and what the existing form was failing to filter.
Design
2 Weeks
A clean Scandinavian design system: calm, minimal, confident. The goal was a visual direction that matched the quality of Bryn’s builds and gave the 3D renders the space they deserved.
Development
3 Weeks
Server migration, plugin consolidation, full image optimisation, and the package-specific Typeform flows. The heaviest lift was rebuilding the enquiry architecture so it did the qualifying work upfront.
Testing
1 Week
Performance benchmarking, cross-device and browser testing, and end-to-end checks on every enquiry flow to make sure the right leads were reaching the right forms.
Design Psychology
Here’s every bias and principle deliberately applied across the site.
Aesthetic-Usability Effect
A beautifully designed website for a bespoke campervan builder isn’t just nice to look at. It signals something about the quality of the vans themselves. Visitors make that connection before they’ve read a word.
Costly Signalling
Professional 3D renders are expensive to produce. Displaying them prominently tells serious buyers that Bhode Vans operates at a level most competitors don’t. They filter in the right audience before the enquiry form is even seen.
Von Restorff Effect
In a market where most competitors use basic photography or nothing at all, the 3D renders are the element that sticks. Visitors remember the site with the renders, and remember it as the more serious operation.
Tesler's Law
Specifying a bespoke vehicle conversion is inherently complex. Packages absorb that complexity by giving visitors a structured starting point, without removing the option for something fully custom.
Hick's Law
Package-specific forms remove the blank-page problem. Rather than asking someone to describe what they want from scratch, they’re confirming a choice they’ve already made.
Sunk Cost
A visitor who fills in a package-specific Typeform has invested effort and self-identified as a serious buyer. By the time Bryn receives it, the psychological cost of walking away is meaningfully higher than it would be from a generic contact box.
Halo Effect
A 5x speed improvement changes how a business is perceived, not just how fast it loads. Slow websites signal inattention. Fast ones signal the opposite, and for a high-value, considered purchase, that signal matters.
Anchoring Bias
Pre-defined packages set clear expectations on scope and specification before anyone enquires. Visitors arrive at the conversation already oriented, which makes the process smoother for both sides.
