TR Stabilisation
Introduction
TR Stabilisation are specialist ground engineering contractors (soil stabilisation, remediation, ground improvement, earthworks) working on projects ranging from retail developments in Skelmersdale to manufacturing facilities for BAE Systems and JCB. The brief was fairly open: build a credible online presence. The old site wasn't doing that. This was also the first site built for the wider TR Group, establishing a structure and design system that would be rolled out across the rest of the group.

Challenge
The challenge with any specialist contractor website isn't explaining the services; it's establishing credibility fast. The buyers visiting a site like this are main contractors, developers, and public sector procurement teams. They don't need a lesson in soil stabilisation. They need to quickly assess whether TR has worked on projects like theirs, at the right scale, with the right accreditations, and with a track record they can point to internally. The old site wasn't giving them any of that clearly.
Solution
The new site is built around evidence. Case studies for BAE Systems, Merseyside Police HQ, JCB, and UPS sit at the centre of the experience, giving buyers the specific, comparable project proof they need before picking up the phone. A clear sectors structure lets visitors immediately identify relevance to their own project. Accreditations are prominently displayed. In construction, these are pre-qualification requirements, not badges. Services are defined across four disciplines with enough technical depth to satisfy a knowledgeable buyer, without overwhelming someone still orienting. Clean navigation and a structured CMS mean the team can keep the site updated as new projects land. As the first build in the TR Group, the structure established here became the template for the wider group's digital presence.

Discovery
2 Weeks
Mapped TR’s services, sectors, and the projects they were most proud of. The key question was: what does a main contractor or developer need to see, and in what order, to feel confident enough to make contact?
Design
3 Weeks
A structured, professional design system built for a technical B2B audience. Clear hierarchy, service and sector architecture, and case study layouts that communicate project scale and capability quickly.
Development
4 Weeks
Built to the high-fidelity designs with a responsive layout and a CMS straightforward enough for the TR team to manage and update as the project portfolio grows.
Testing
2 Weeks
Performance optimisation, cross-device QA, and a thorough review of every navigation path. Making sure the site held up for buyers doing serious due diligence.
Design Psychology
Here’s every bias and principle deliberately applied across the site.
Halo Effect
BAE Systems, Merseyside Police, JCB, and UPS in the case studies aren’t just impressive names. They signal the scale and sensitivity of projects TR has delivered. A main contractor looking at those names knows TR can handle theirs.
Social Proof
In B2B construction, testimonials carry less weight than documented project outcomes. The case studies structure (client, brief, scope, result) gives buyers something they can take into their own procurement process.
Chunking
Four services. Six sectors. Eight case studies. Each layer of information is broken into discrete, navigable units so a technically complex business feels organised and confident rather than overwhelming.
Hick's Law
The sectors structure (Commercial, Industrial, Aviation, Public Sector and more) lets buyers self-identify their relevance immediately. Rather than reading everything, they click into their world.
Loss Aversion
B2B construction procurement is fundamentally about not making a bad appointment. Accreditations, project-specific case studies, and clear contact details all reduce the perceived risk of choosing TR. The buyers visiting this site are more afraid of getting it wrong than they are motivated by getting it right.
Noble Edge Effect
The sustainability page isn’t decoration. Public sector procurement teams and large contractors increasingly have ESG requirements to satisfy. Signalling environmental responsibility is a pre-qualification advantage, not a nice-to-have.
Authority Bias
Being part of a wider group signals stability, shared resource, and scale. All factors that matter when a buyer is committing to a significant ground engineering contract.
