Premier Clinic
Introduction
Premier Clinic is a Blackburn-based private practice covering an unusually broad range of clinical services: sports podiatry, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, biomechanics, private GP, counselling, men's health, occupational health, and more. Patients arrive from across the active and injured population; businesses come for occupational health and industrial screening. The site needed to make a wide, complex offer navigable, and to reflect a clinic operating at a genuinely high standard.

Challenge
The existing site wasn't doing justice to the quality of the practice. Poor structure made it difficult for patients to find what they were looking for, messaging was unclear, and calls to action were inconsistent. A weak mobile experience made things worse at exactly the point where most patients are searching. A clinic with serious credentials and specialist equipment was being undersold at every point of first contact.
Solution
A full WordPress rebuild focused on structure, clarity, and conversion. Service pages properly organised across a wide range of clinical areas. A price list published. Transparent pricing in private healthcare is a genuine rarity, and here it answers the question patients are most anxious to ask before they'll make contact. An online shop added for products. The enquiry journey simplified, the mobile experience rebuilt from the ground up, and the site made significantly faster. The result is a platform that now reflects what Premier Clinic actually is.

Discovery
1 Week
Reviewed the existing site and mapped the patient journey, understanding where visitors were getting lost and what structural and messaging changes would most directly support enquiries.
Design
2 Weeks
A cleaner, more professional visual direction with consistent messaging and a clear hierarchy across services. Designed for patients who know what they need, and those who are still working it out.
Development
6 Weeks
Full WordPress rebuild covering 15+ service pages across individual and business services, a complete online shop, and a streamlined enquiry experience. Built to perform on mobile, where most patients arrive.
Testing
1 Week
Usability checks, performance optimisation, and a final pass on every route to the contact form.
Design Psychology
Here’s every bias and principle deliberately applied across the site.
Authority Bias
HCPC registration, Royal College of Podiatry, General Medical Council, SMA, CSOP, Pacific Medical Training. All practitioners qualified to BSc level as a minimum; the head of clinical services to Masters level. In private healthcare, professional registration isn’t a differentiator: it’s the baseline expectation. Having it all visible and clearly structured removes that question before it’s raised.
Anchoring Bias
A public price list is unusual in private healthcare, where cost opacity is the norm and enquiry anxiety is real. Publishing prices upfront removes one of the most common barriers to getting in touch: the fear of calling without knowing what things cost.
Loss Aversion
“100% transparent with regards to all clinical evaluations, treatment plans and costs.” The anxiety around private healthcare isn’t just about price: it’s about being pushed into unnecessary treatment or receiving an unexpected bill. Addressing that directly, before a patient has picked up the phone, reduces the psychological cost of making contact.
Framing
“Get back to full fitness” and “take the first steps to getting your life back on track.” Services aren’t framed as clinical procedures: they’re framed as the path back to normal life. For someone managing a long-term injury or chronic pain, that’s a more compelling and more honest proposition.
Von Restorff Effect
The Alter G anti-gravity treadmill is the standout piece of equipment on the site. It’s specialist rehabilitation technology that most local clinics don’t have, and its presence signals a level of investment in treatment that separates Premier Clinic from a standard physio practice.
Miller's Law
Four USP pillars: Experienced, Transparent, Friendly, Dedicated. Complex clinical credibility condensed into four clearly defined values, each with a plain-language explanation. The depth is there; it doesn’t all arrive at once.
Social Proof
Named client testimonials for a private clinical practice carry weight proportional to the decision being made. Choosing where to seek treatment for an injury or a health concern is personal and high-stakes. Peer experience is the most persuasive signal available.
Familiarity Bias
British Forces Discount is a targeted trust signal that the clinic specifically serves that community. For service personnel and veterans, it communicates something that a generic private healthcare practice doesn’t.
Reciprocity
“No question will ever go unanswered.” The offer of free, uncommitted guidance is the first gesture in a trust relationship, and in healthcare, where people often have questions they’re uncertain how to ask, it matters.
Sunk Cost
Simplifying the enquiry journey lowers the cost of the first step. The lower that barrier, the more people take it, and once someone has made contact, the psychological investment in following through rises considerably.
